Coolmation has provided two 1200kW low noise, high energy efficiency ratio screw compressor chillers for a new landmark building in central London.

 

 

The chillers, manufactured by Rhoss in Italy, were designed and constructed to conform to a demanding specification, including a height restriction which other main stream chiller manufactures expressed difficulty in meeting.

 

The main features of each chiller includes:

 

  • Energy efficiency ratio of 3.3
  • Power factor correction capacitors
  • 3 screw compressors giving 9 capacity steps
  • R134A refrigerant
  • Star/Delta compressor starting reducing starting current by 66%
  • High efficiency shell and tube evaporator  
  • 3 refrigerant circuits with electronic expansion valves
  • Inverter controlled chilled water pumps, tank and dosing pot
  • A maximum height including avm’s of 2.05m
  • Acoustically lined compressor housings and panels

 

Prior to dispatch from Italy, the clients witnessed the chillers being tested and meeting their specifications against performance and noise criteria.

 

Alongside their standard manufacturing facility, Rhoss employ a team of engineers with the capability to fast track special projects through design and into production.

 

Rhoss products are Eurovent certified and their test laboratory, one of the biggest in Europe and capable of testing chillers up to 1500kW at full load conditions, has itself been certified by Eurovent.
