Coolmation, the UK’s exclusive distributor for Rhoss SPA, has launched the TCAE Y Pack range of space saving chillers, designed specifically for chiller replacement projects where space is at a premium. Available from 150kW to 350kW these energy efficient chillers, also available as reverse cycle heat pumps, boast an exceptionally small footprint almost half the size of their predecessors.
Following significant research and development investment by Rhoss, the TCAE Y Space Saver offers staggering dimension reductions with the largest chiller in the range measuring just 6m2 compared to the 10m2 of its predecessor. Boasting Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) ratings up to 2.87 and Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ESEER) up to 4.25, the Eurovent Certified TCAE Y Pack range also provides outstanding efficiency.
With air conditioning loads in older buildings steadily rising due to increased staffing levels, heat generating equipment and servers, many chillers are struggling to cope. Add to this the need to comply with the F-gas Regulations and the phase out of R22 and the need for replacement chillers is accelerating. However, chiller dimensions and plant room space can prove to be an obstacle when retrofitting the units.
“Coolmation is involved in a number of ongoing chiller replacement projects, but in almost every case, dimensions become a real issue. The space taken up by the original chiller is invariably insufficient to accommodate the new higher capacity one causing real installation problems,” explains Steve Warnock, Coolmation‘s Group Managing Director.
“To solve this problem we set our Italian chiller manufacturer Rhoss SPA the challenge to design and manufacture a new space saving chiller specifically for the replacement market. The result is our radical TCAE Y Space Saver range which allows us to offer our smallest chiller footprint yet, making space issues redundant.”
In addition, the Space Saver range utilises refrigerant R410A, multi scroll compressors and the unique Adaptive Function Plus control logic, developed in conjunction with the IT department of the University of Padova. All chillers in the series are available in standard, silenced and super silenced form or as reverse cycle heat pumps.
Further space reductions and installation cost savings can be achieved by opting for integral chilled water circulating pumps, single or double to provide standby and automatic change over, expansion vessels and buffer tanks, up to 1100ltr capacity, with safety valve and pressure gauge.
